Description
The start of Delft Blue and some of the currently used decorations lay in the Seventeenth Century, the Golden Age in Dutch history. The design of The Blue Belly Tea Story is based on the images and objects from that era. Round, voluminous ships slowly crossing the sea, people with thick clothing and healthy blushing faces and wooden barrels almost bursting from their precious content. This wealthy feeling became the starting point for the Blue Belly Tea Story. With the decorations applied only on the lid of the teapot, the lid becomes a precious object that one will carefully take in one’s hand to admire. The two cups with the blue flower inside join the teapot in form and decoration. The Blue Belly Tea Story is designed by Chris Koens.
The Blue Belly Tea Story consists of a teapot with a painted lid and two mugs with different flowers on the inside.
