Handpainted tile from The Original Blue Collection in the line known as Childs Play, this tile features a traditional image of mother and baby. Delft Blue tiles were a display in the homes of 17th century Holland. With an increase in wealth, there was an increase in demand and the diversity of the available tiles increased too. These tiles were mostly used to decorate fireplaces, kitchens and doors. The tiles were typically decorated with the scenes from everyday life. Ships, windmills, childs play and animals were a few of the themes that were popular then, but also have a place in our handmade and handpainted collections in modern times.
